As many of you have heard by now, we have some exciting news regarding YG (Youth Getaway)! In 2024, we are inviting ALL our BCYD family to join us in Kelowna for ONE, district-wide youth event!
Coincidentally enough, we had already chosen the theme for 2024 before we made the decision to return to a district-wide event, and that theme is UNITY (Perhaps what they say is true: There is no such thing as coincidence). We chose this theme for a couple of reasons:
- Unity is one of the core values for why we do big youth events like YG. There is something special about hundreds of students & leaders gathering in one place. It gives students a greater perspective on what the Church looks like beyond their local youth ministries.
- We believe there is something powerful about a larger gathering of God’s people. The Holy Spirit always seems to show up in a special kind of way. As Psalm 133 says, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in UNITY… for there the Lord bestows His blessing, even life forevermore!”
We are so excited to host a gathering of students and leaders once again from across BC and Yukon. So many of our current youth pastors and leaders are in ministry today because of a calling they received at events like Historymaker and YG, and we are anticipating yet another wave of leaders to be called out as we plan for YG this year!
There is so much more we could say about YG ’24, but here is some basic information to get you started:

Location: Evangel Church (Kelowna)
Cost: Starting at $59/ticket (Super-Early-Bird begins Feb. 14 and runs 5 days!)
