Who We Are
Calvary Tabernacle, (or Calvary Church as we refer to ourselves), is a community of Christ-following believers from different backgrounds and of all ages, who are seeking to discover the life God has for them. Founded in 1951, Calvary Tabernacle is located in the beautiful Cariboo-Chilcotin in the city of Williams Lake. Our church sits directly across from the local high school and is surrounded by residential housing. We actively engage in community projects such as our Back-to-School Backpack Drive, a bi-monthly community dinner, a Wednesday high school lunch program, and other creative ways to spread Christ’s love through generosity and relationship.
We believe strongly in these five core values and desire to see the working out of the Great Commission by practicing them: Intentionally pursuing a healthy Christian life, Building meaningful relationships both inside and outside the church, Excellence in all we do, A culture of hospitality, and Missional generosity.
We desire our next lead pastor to be a spirit led visionary who has a heart for worship, evangelism, teaching and revival; a builder of people who can develop and release people into their areas of strength to build a healthy congregation and reach the lost and hurting in our community.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- I Peter 5:2, Matthew 28:19-20, I Timothy 3:1-7
- Hold current credentials and be ordained with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), or the Assemblies of God (AOG) or be an applicant approved by the executive officers of the BC/Yukon PAOC District
- Hold a degree in a field relevant to pastoral ministry
- A proven track record of pastoral leadership, preferably having served as the lead pastor or senior associate pastor of another assembly
- Effectively use technology and social media for ministry purposes
- Criminal record check and employment references to be furnished upon request
